First Aid Activities

The Pori branch has a First Aid and Emergency Response Team that provides on-call services and participates in various events and activities. 

During group meetings, we organize first-response drills so that group members can become familiar with procedures and first-aid equipment. Together, we develop and maintain first aid skills through drills, attend lectures by external experts, and take field trips to interesting and inspiring locations related to first aid. The first aid team is on call at various events. 

Note: The group operates mainly in Finnish. No prior experience is required for first aid work. 

What do our volunteers do?

Our volunteers serve as first aid attendants, in first aid support, and on the emergency response team. You don’t need to have taken first aid courses to join the first aid team. You can take the courses when you have time. You can also join the first aid support team if first aid feels unfamiliar to you. As part of the first aid support team, you can assist the first aid team at large events, on-call shifts, and search operations by providing catering, documentation, and transportation support.

How can I join?

The first aid team meets at Kuninkaanlahdenkatu 10 on Mondays of odd-numbered weeks from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please double-check the time and location, and if this is your first time, call Virpi at 044 300 3618.
