Fundraising Activities
The Finnish Red Cross provides assistance in the event of accidents and crises in Finland and around the world. Become part of the chain of help and join a fundraising group!
The Pori branch’s fundraising team coordinates the annual Hunger Day fundraiser and is on standby to organize emergency relief fundraisers. In addition to collection box volunteers, we welcome help with recruiting collectors, running campaigns with schoolchildren, and organizing other events.
Nälkäpäivä (Hunger Day Collection) 24–26 September 2026
We need many volunteers to join us for the Hunger Day Collection! The event includes 10 shops around Pori, and on Saturday at the market square we will sell Nälkäpäivä bread and soup as usual. We are also organising a charity golf competition in cooperation with Yyteri Golf, as well as collection box fundraising.
Volunteers are needed for many different tasks:
- Selling Nälkäpäivä bread in shops and at the market square
- Collection box fundraising
- Food aid
- Setting up tents
- Trailer transport
- First aid tasks (for those with first aid skills)
Even if you are busy, just a couple of hours makes a real difference and helps raise funds for the disaster relief fund. Every one of us is needed!
